I had the absolute pleasure of working with Mari and Matt on their recent wedding. From the moment I met them in our Zoom meeting, they were both warm and communicative, and Mari had a bubbling energy that was ever present even on the day of the wedding. Second time is the charm for both Mari and Matt, and they both have beautiful daughters that came together to become one family. They were sweet and attentive, helping Mari get ready. Both Mari and Matt wanted a very small and intimate wedding, and invited their closest family and friends. They made use of their adorable little backyard, and the space was transformed with florals to create the perfect setting for them to say their vows. After the ceremony, guests were surprised with a custom cake designed by local celebrity chef, Hemu Basu of Sweet Sensation, which portrayed Mari and Matt atop an elephant amidst the African wilderness - a tribute to their unique and memorable proposal and engagement. After cake and champagne, Mari and Matt took everyone to dinner at well known steakhouse, Georgia James, where every detail was attended to. It’s clear that not only do Mari and Matt have a deep love for each other, but also for those who are special in their lives. I truly enjoyed every moment of photographing this warm and beautiful group of people, and feel very blessed to have been part of this day.
