Read More+ Salma & Mohamed: It started with cupcakes
I’m thrilled to share my latest post, because hands down, it is for my favorite couple: Salma and Mohamed. Mohamed (Medi) is my brother-in-law, who is basically my second little brother, and one gem of a person. We all eagerly awaited for a very long time for him to find his match. Fate is funny when that match happens to be in the city we just left behind. Enter, Salma.
By chance, Salma and Medi met online in Spring of 2022 - two people who were tired of online dating, who felt hopeless in finding a genuine connection. Salma felt she had exhausted New York. Medi felt he had exhausted Texas. Neither were super interested from the start, and they both probably felt that this was just going to be another hi-bye situation. But small talk turned into conversation. Conversation turned into hours-long phone calls, and constantly looking forward to the next one. Then finally, Medi woke up one morning, and thought, “I have to go to New York.” He got on the plane to meet Salma in person, and you could say the rest is history.
We traveled to NYC in November to witness their engagement, and of course, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take some adorable engagement photos for the happy couple. They chose the Little Cupcake Bakeshop in Brooklyn, a place they frequent whenever Medi is in town, where they had one of their first official dates, and where they both delight in the famous red velvet cupcake.
I’m so excited for them, I love them, and I can’t wait for their 2023 wedding.
+ Everyday Chic with Cynthia
As many of you know, I’m a Houston girl now. But my heart does occassionaly ache for my New York City days. Especially as a photographer. I was browsing through some of my old photos from before, and I realized I never got to share some of my last photographs before the move.
Cynthia has made many appearances in my Blog, usually with her family. She is a dear client and friend of mine. She is also one of my original clients from when I first started freelancing. I’ve been with her and her beautiful family many times, starting with maternity, to newborn, to family photos - witnessing the growth of her adorable boy, Mylan. Cynthia is passionate about all things beautiful, especially the “everyday chic.” She was always interested in working as a full time luxury lifestyle blogger, showcasing everything from small pleasures to top of the line luxury, fine dining, and the latest fashion. And that’s where I came in - helping her photograph some of her favorite outfits, foods, beauty products, and neighborhood spots. I am finally getting a moment to share some of my favorite photos with Cynthia. Enjoy. :)
