I just want to say: This is my first same-sex wedding shoot! Thanks to being in the great state of New York, and thanks to Angie and Tara - two lovely Southern ladies from Tennessee who gave me the opportunity. :-) Angie and Tara have always wanted to visit NYC, so what could be more of an incentive than to visit a place where two people can also officially declare their commitment to each other! They started dating beginning of 2013, and got engaged not too long after - just last December around the holidays. Wedding plans were soon to follow, and they reached out to me to photograph their ceremony. Meeting them over Skype was a joy - our "professional" chat kept going into tangents and we ended up chit-chatting for way more than an hour! Even though they wanted to get married in NYC, Angie and Tara still wanted to stay true to themselves as nature lovers, and find the most rustic spot possible in the city. They decided on Wagner's Cove, which is actually right in a very busy and popular spot in Central Park. However the way the Cove is situated by the water past the trees makes for a secluded and intimate feel. On their wedding day, I was a little worried as the temperature had dropped and we were getting a whole day of rain! Nothing was going to stop us though, and armed with umbrellas, we made it work. Things definitely started looking up: the rain had kept a lot of tourists away, the cloudy skies made for beautiful lighting, and all of Central Park was turned into a lush, green garden. To hear the pitter-patter of rain on the water by Wagner Cove during the ceremony, surrounded by the sounds of nature, couldn't get more perfect for Angie and Tara. It was an enchanting time! Check out the photos from their memorable day...
