+ Jason & Steven: Red, the color of all things worth celebrating

wedding date: July 19, 2014

I met Jason and Steven on a cold winter evening at a cafe in Ridgewood, nestled right on the border of Queens and Brooklyn. From the moment I met them, I was warmed by their gentlemanly manners, charming personalities, their love for each other, and Jason's snappy sense of humor. These guys actually met online! But quickly, they were drawn to each other and knew there was something not to be missed. Before they knew it - they were engaged! And soon after, they were in the midst of wedding planning. When Steven contacted me, he specified that they wanted a photographer who was friendly with the gay community - needless to say, I was honored to photograph for them! Jason and Steven wanted a very elegant and glamorous wedding. They chose Roma View in Queens for its bayside location and elegant hall, and the decor was accented with ivory, golds, and reds. They both looked super sharp in their black and white tuxedos, and being that this was a gay wedding - you shouldn't be surprised to know that there was a higher than usual number of very well-dressed men. Everyone got their bling on. ;) For the reception, Jason, Steven, and their wedding party all changed outfits to all sport something red. It totally added to the romantic and passionate vibe that was ever present throughout the night. The festivities then turned into a dance club and everyone was keen on showing off their dance moves! If allowed, I'm sure they would've gone all night... I was finally able to grab some intimate shots later in the evening as the couple shared a moment with each other. Check out photos from the super fun and beautiful evening!
