After numerous emails and a Skype conference, I was super excited to meet Lynn and Steve - a truly genuine and lovely couple coming all the way from Aberdeen, Scotland! As everyone knows, only Scots can make plaid and men in skirts look totally cool and classy... Lynn and Steve were no exception. They met a few years ago through some mutual friends, and knew pretty quickly that a long future together was ahead. Lynn and Steve have a love for New York City, and visit quite often! They share many memories in several spots in NYC, but told me that the iconic Starbucks coffee shop in Times Square held a certain special place in their hearts where they used to sip on coffee and people watch. It was important to them to tie the knot in the city they've come to love so much, and to include the popular Starbucks as part of the backdrop in at least one photograph. Fast forward to the big day - what would make any Scotsman proud is the fact that they hired a professional bagpiper to lead and bagpipe their way through Manhattan! The men were all dressed in proper Scottish fashion, and Lynn also donned a plaid cloak. The unmistakable tune of the bagpipe certainly drew in a crowd! Everyone was cheering on the couple and snapping photos - from the hotel, to Ladies Pavilion for the ceremony, to our trip through Central Park afterward. Some pedestrians even jumped into our little procession to walk along to the tune of the bagpipe - it was truly an experience! Despite the summer heat getting stronger as the sun climbed higher in the sky, Lynn and Steve kept such good spirits, and were so patient and fun to work with. Central Park provided many beautiful backdrops - Belvedere Castle and some of the more rustic areas were particularly befitting. Scroll through to see Lynn and Steve's beautiful wedding day...
