+ Charlene & Greg: Gold and blue bliss

wedding date: June 27, 2014

When I first met Charlene, I was charmed. She had a quiet, understated elegance to her, and was completely grounded and well-spoken. And at such a young age, she had accomplished so much in her life already, including finding a partner who makes her undeniably happy. Charlene has a bit of an old soul in her. She wanted a very traditional wedding with a proper ceremony in a church, and wanted to wear the vintage wedding dress her mother wore at her own wedding. She didn't change anything about the dress or the look - she even wore her hair in a similar fashion as her mother did! I didn't get to meet Greg before the wedding, but Charlene filled me in on how they met (at work), how he persistently courted her before she finally agreed to go out with him, and how they've been enduring some long distance as he works in New Hampshire. It's all been worth it though, and I finally got to see and photograph the happy couple reunited for good on their wedding day. Charlene decided to get married at the large Old First Reformed Church in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and we did portraits at the nearby Prospect Park. Royal blue and golden yellow were the chosen colors, and they were not only in the wedding decor, but in Charlene's home as well! She also decided to sport some sparkly and velvety blue pumps underneath her dress, which I loved. They were perfect color choices for this summer wedding, bright and beautiful - totally befitting for the glowing couple as they prepare for life finally together in New Hampshire. Below are some photos to share!
